CARROLLTON, Ga.- West Georgia men's basketball guard Chas Lewless has been named to the Preseason All-United Athletic Conference (UAC) Team, earning recognition as one of 10 players selected ahead of the 2026-27 season.

A 6'2" redshirt sophomore from Detroit, Michigan, Lewless enters his second season with the Wolves after emerging as a key contributor during the 2025-26 campaign. Before an injury cut his season short, Lewless started all nine games he appeared in, averaging 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, and shot 84.2% from the free throw line.

Lewless had a career night on Dec. 1, 2025, helping UWG secure a 93-89 double-overtime road victory over Troy, the eventual 2025-26 Sun Belt Conference champions. He scored a career-high 26 points, shooting 60% from the field and 75% from three-point range. Lewless scored 20 points across the two overtime periods to help the Wolves complete the comeback.

Head coach Dave Moore emphasized Lewless' importance to the team's success as he returns from injury and prepares for conference play. "Chas is our quarterback on the floor. For us to be successful in league play, he needs to have a good year for us. He has worked hard to come back from injury. We expect him to be a huge part of our team's success!"

The Preseason All-UAC selection adds to the anticipation surrounding Lewless' return as the Wolves prepare for their first season in the UAC.
